How do I sign up?
Create a free account with your email and phone number on the sign-up page, then download the Pesa Wire mobile app to verify your identity and start using your wallet.
Do I need to verify my identity?
Yes. A quick one-time KYC (Know Your Customer) check is required to unlock full transaction limits and comply with Bank of Uganda regulations. See our Fees & Limits page for what changes once you're verified.
Does Pesa Wire really charge zero fees?
Yes, on international transfers, bill payments, forex trades, and wallet top-ups. The one exception is a flat UGX 1,000 fee for withdrawing cash at a forex office other than the one holding your balance. Full detail on our Fees & Limits page.
What's the maximum I can send or withdraw?

Which countries can I send money to?
Pesa Wire supports instant transfers to India, Türkiye, the UAE, Pakistan, the UK, and China, with more corridors added over time.
Which bills can I pay?
Electricity (Umeme), water (NWSC), TV (DSTV, GOtv), internet, mobile airtime (MTN, Airtel), and school fees through School Pay, schoolBuk, KCCA Schools, and Makerere/Kyambogo, among others.
How fast do transfers and bill payments confirm?
Payments confirm in real time and a receipt is generated on every settlement.
How does forex trading work on Pesa Wire?
Pesa Wire aggregates live buy/sell rates from partner forex offices across Kampala, Entebbe, and Jinja. You pick the best quote, the trade settles to your wallet instantly, and you can withdraw at any office in the network.
Can I use Pesa Wire for payroll or vendor payments?
Yes. Business accounts can process up to 15,000 payouts per batch across MTN, Airtel, and Pesa Wire wallets, with auto-refund on failure and a daily reconciliation report. See Bulk Payments.
